Clear Lake City itself is mostly inside City of Houston limits, with a small eastern portion in Taylor Lake Village. The surrounding area includes Nassau Bay, El Lago, Webster and part of Pasadena — each its own incorporated city, with its own police and its own rules.
Here is why that matters. If a public entity contributed to your crash, the notice deadline depends on which entity. In the Houston portion, the City requires notarized written notice within 90 days. A few minutes down NASA Parkway in Nassau Bay, it is that city's charter instead. Webster, El Lago and Taylor Lake Village each have their own. These deadlines are short, they differ, and missing one generally ends the claim outright.
This is the single most common way a Clear Lake case gets damaged before a lawyer ever sees it: everyone assumes the Houston rule, or assumes no rule, and the real one runs out.

Duty records must be kept at least six months; dashcam footage is frequently overwritten in days. A preservation letter has to land while it still exists.
